Too many dogs lose their lives by curiously approaching a rattlesnake.
People know not to approach or provoke a rattlesnake but we can still accidentally step on one. Dogs are different they are more likely to go investigate. Our goal is to protect your dog by teaching it not to run up to and engage with a rattlesnake but same as humans, accidents can still happen. Our services are provided in a class setting of up to six dogs per class, private classes are available upon request.
Each class will begin with education of Utah and rattlesnake safety for you and your family! Safety of the dog, owner and rattlesnake are of the utmost importance to us, no one will be in contact with the rattlesnake it will be safely enclosed the entire time. Haley is licensed through the State of Utah.
Most dogs have a natural aversion of rattlesnakes, our class capitalizes on those instincts and instills danger associated with the sight, smell and sound of the snake. There are 7 species of rattlesnake in the state of Utah, our course will be using a western rattlesnake.
Our class is about 1.5 hours in which you will be handling your dog while the trainers will be administering corrections and reading the dogs behavior. We will be stopping and teaching you about what we are seeing with each of the senses that your dog encounters.
We find it essential that you understand your dogs behavior and their reactions so you can better understand your dog if they encounter a rattlesnake in the wild.
Rattlesnake Aversion is a great way to take away dogs curiosity, but while out on the trails anything can happen, aversion is not a 100%.

Your dog will receive training with a proven method of snake proofing/avoidance.
Your dog will be trained to recognize snakes by sight, sound and/or smell and may even warn you that a snake is present so that you can avoid it, keeping you and your dog safe.
