HALEY Haley is from Draper Utah, and has always had a passion for animals and wildlife.
In 2014 Haley, adopted an amazing Malamute shepherd named Harrison. Her love for both her dog and reptiles helped her realize the need for protection of rattlesnakes and dogs.
Haley has worked professionally with venomous snakes for more than a decade, and founded Utah Rattlesnake Avoidance in 2014
Haley is permitted through the State of Utah to keep Rattlesnakes.
ASHLEY
Haley met Ashley 3 years ago, while working together for CroFab antivenom, handling venomous snakes daily. They stayed close and she became the perfect fit for a second trainer !
Ashley is from Kansas and a lifelong lover of all animals. She has over 20 years of experience working with reptiles and amphibians in a professional capacity. Ashley has worked in a variety of animal fields. She served as a subject matter expert and primary keeper of the reptiles and amphibians at Utah's Hogle Zoo, mentoring and training staff on husbandry and handling techniques for venomous snakes. Most notably, Ashley was the first, and remains the only, woman to be trained in the extraction of venom for the production of the human antivenom, CroFab. Ashley has field experience with venomous snakes in the U.S. and Southeast Asia. Ashley is also educated in various training techniques, and prides herself on catering her training approach to each individual animal. Ashley is the founder and owner of Pawsitive Pup Vibes LLC, and when they aren’t teaching rattlesnake avoidance, she and her husband Luke help dogs live their best lives through a number of available services. Ashley and Luke also have two adorable heelers, Kora and Eva.
LUKE
Luke is originally from Kansas, having originally moved to Utah with his wife Ashley in 2012. He has more than 25 years of professional experience working with reptiles and amphibians. Luke holds a doctorate in Evolutionary Biology from Brigham Young University and a Master’s in Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity from the University of Kansas. His academic research focused mainly on lizards in Southeast Asia. As a research scientist for CroFab, Luke studied the biochemical nature and variation in snake venoms in the U.S. and abroad, as well as the clinical implications of envenomations, their related therapies, and snake bite first-aid. Luke has field experience with venomous snakes in the U.S., Africa and Southeast Asia.
